A War Profiteers “Line-Up”

Interesting to note the second highest earning contractor, Parson’s Corporation, well behind Kellogg Brown and Root, who “just happen” to be the subsidiary of Halliburton, VP Cheney’s company (who still pays him).

Parson’s Corporation is bidding with Worley Group, an Australian company for oil reconstruction projects in Iraq:

In July 2003, Parsons and Australia-based Worley Corp. submitted a proposal to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to repair and restore Iraq’s oil infrastructure, a job previously awarded to Halliburton Corp. on a sole-source basis. Parsons has been working continuously in the Middle East on oil and infrastructure projects since the 1940s. Among its many notable projects in the area is the ongoing redesign and restoration program for the Kuwait Oil Company, a contract issued to Parsons following the first Gulf war. That proposal is pending.

Lest anyone think the Howard government committed Australia to another colonial adventure without some kickback to private industry…
