Listening Experiments
A project I’ve been involved with at the Music Cognition Group of the UvA is an online experiment into the ability of listeners to discriminate timing and tempo changes in Classical, Jazz and Rock music.
It’s an online experiment anyone can do and is actually quite fun, there are some vouchers for Amazon to be raffled if you participate. Earlier experiments in music perception usually require listeners to be physically present in the laboratory in order to gather their responses. The work of the MCG is new in placing the experiment on the internet as a web site accessible to anyone.
